Late-comer Hotel Ashok staffer held for hoax call

NEW DELHI - An employee of Hotel Ashok was arrested for making a hoax bomb call as he was late for work, a police official said Friday.

Sukuman Tamang, working in China Garden Restaurant of Ashoka Hotel, allegedly made the call May 13 that led to a massive search operation.

“He made the call thinking that it will keep his bosses busy and they will not notice his late arrival,” the official added.

“Investigation revealed that the call were made from a mobile phone. The address of the owner was found to be fake but finally the caller was identified as Tamang,” the official said.
