Eight killed in two road accidents in Agra

AGRA - Eight people, including two government engineers and six members of a family going to pay condolences, were killed in two road accidents in Agra district Monday, police said.

Two engineers of the state government owned-Dakshinanchal Vidhyut Supply Nigam Ltd - Vivek Yadav and Shambhu Singh Bhaduaria - were killed while a third Akshay Yadav was seriously injured, when their car rammed into a truck near Budhera village under Taj Ganj police station around midnight.

Police said the engineers were going for an inspection to Bah tehsil.

In the second incident, six people were killed when a stone-laden truck collided with their Maruti van in the Fatehpur Sikri area.

Geetam Singh of Taj Ganj area was going to Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh with his family to offer condolences to a relative when the truck hit them. Five, including driver Raj Kishore, were killed on the spot and the sixth died in the emergency ward of the SN Medical College.

Two other injured are in a critical condition.
