WASHINGTON - A leader of the presidential commission investigating the Gulf oil spill says he has been told his panel will have subpoena power if needed to get a full accounting of the disaster.

WASHINGTON - The new presidential commission investigating the Gulf oil spill will include two experts who have been active on the subject of global warming, including one who wrote just last month that the country should redouble efforts to lessen its dependence on oil, The Associated Press has learned.
