RANCHI - Two players were suspended after Jharkhand and Andhra Pradesh teams exchanged fisticuffs during a netball match of the 34th National Games on Tuesday, said an official.

Two Jharkhand players, captain Sushil Kumar and Shamsad, have been suspended by the disciplinary committee of Netball Association of India, an official told IANS.

The match was played in the coal city of Dhanbad at the Indian School of Mines ground Tuesday.

The incident was triggered off when an Andhra player allegedly hit a Jharkhand player during a dispute over a point. The scuffle turned ugly and the players of both teams were involved in a clash.

Six players sustained minor injuries. Two Andhra players are said to have fractured their hands.

The players were calmed down by the referee and others and the game was postponed.

Jharkhand players had Monday alleged that referees were partial and they were defeated by their wrong decisions.
