Man held for stabbing two friends

NEW DELHI - Two days after a man attacked two women, including his girlfriend of four years after the couple fell out and then tried to commit suicide, the assailant has been arrested, police said Monday.
“Thapa had been hiding at his friend, Sattar Imrans house in the same area after attacking his girlfriend Virginia Shenpin, 24, and her friend Adreline, 23 at their rented accommodation in Gautam Vihar Saturday,” said a senior police officer.
According to police, Thapa was rushed to the Safdarjung Hospital Saturday evening after he used the same knife with which he had attacked the women to slash his right wrist and a portion of his neck.
He was bleeding profusely from his wrist and neck and was rushed to hospital immediately after his friend intimated us. Thapa is out of danger and has been arrested, the officer added.
According to the police, Thapa and Shenpin had returned from China after pursuing a course in medicine, and had been romantically involved since 2006. They were currently preparing to take a Medical Council of India examination.
On Saturday, an infuriated Thapa had used a kitchen knife to attack Shenpin and her roommate after he was asked to leave the house where the couple had been staying since early January.
