CBI files FIR in Adarsh scam

MUMBAI - The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Saturday filed a first information report (FIR) in the controversial Adarsh Housing Society scam naming among others some retired defence officials.
The FIR has named certain promoters of the society besides retired defence officials and members of the society, an official said, but declined to reveal the details.
The development comes in the wake of the Bombay High Court seeking to know what action the CBI had taken in the matter without registering a FIR into the case.
At a hearing Jan 18, the high court had directed the investigating agency to file the FIR in the case within two weeks.
