10 dead in Germany train collision

OSCHERSLEBEN - A collision between two trains late Saturday in northern Germany left 10 people dead and 20 seriously injured, police told DPA.

A freight train collided with a passenger train in the state of Saxony-Anhalt. The reason for the collision was not immediately known.

The wreckage of both trains was ablaze.

The passenger train from the regional HarzElbeExpress was travelling from Magdeburg to Halberstadt.
