Man gets death for minor’s rape, murder

LUCKNOW - A court in Meerut in Uttar Pradesh Wednesday awarded the death penalty to a man for the 2008 rape and murder of a minor girl, officials said.
Additional Sessions Judge Shyam Vinod sentenced Ajai alias Chhotu to death for killing the seven-year-old girl after raping her in Parikshitgarh area.
The girl’s body was recovered from the outskirts of Puthi village in Meerut, some 450 km from Lucknow, police said.
