10 jailed for pirating dictionaries

BEIJING - Ten people have been jailed in China for their involvement in printing and selling pirated dictionaries.

A court in Hebei province sentenced the 10 to two to six years imprisonment, Xinhua reported Wednesday.

In June 2009, authorities found more than 10,000 pirated copies of popular dictionaries including Xinhua Dictionary, Modern Chinese Dictionary and Oxford Advanced Learner’s English-Chinese Dictionary.
