Chilpancingo (Mexico), Dec 28 (IANS/EFE) Two bodies, which were dismembered and skinned, were dumped outside a bar in Acapulco, a resort city in southern Mexico, authorities said.

The bodies of the two unidentified men were found just after midnight at the entrance to the Secret bar in the southern section of the Pacific port city, said the Guerrero state Public Safety Secretariat.

An anonymous caller tipped police off to the location of the bodies.

Two messages were left with the bodies, which were dismembered, skinned and left partially hanging at the bar’s entrance.

Eleven people were kidnapped at the same bar Dec 17.

Two of the victims were later found dead, but the others are still missing.

The drug-related violence in Acapulco, located about 300 km south of Mexico City, has spiked recently, prompting business owners and hoteliers to complain about a drop in tourism.

A man’s body was also found early Sunday in Cuernavaca, a city located between Mexico City and Acapulco.

The man was apparently killed by the South Pacific cartel, a branch of the Beltran Leyva cartel, Morelos state Attorney General’s Office spokesmen told EFE.

Thousands of tourists are expected to arrive in Acapulco for the New Year’s holiday.
