LONDON - A man climbing up a frozen waterfall in Britain fell to his death, a media report said Tuesday.

The climber fell about 80 feet, Daily Express reported.

Police called out mountain rescuers at 11 a.m. Dec 26 after the man fell while ice climbing with a companion at Cautley Spout, in the Howgill Fells, near Kirkby Stephen, Cumbria.

A paramedic was winched down from an air ambulance but failed to resuscitate him.

We have no criticisms. Sadly, accidents happen, Mountain rescue leader Arthur Littlefair was quoted as saying.
