NEW DELHI - Two men were arrested for firing in the air outside a prominent hotel on central Delhi’s Parliament Street after an argument with the hotel staff, police said Sunday.

They had a minor argument with the staff of Agni restaurant located in the Park Hotel, after which they came out and opened fire, a police officer said.

According to Additional Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) K.C. Dwivedi, the firing took place Saturday around 2 a.m. outside the Park Hotel, opposite Jantar Mantar.

The hotel is located about a kilometre from the Parliament House.

“Pradeep Dahiya, who has six cases, including that of murder, against him and Rahul were arrested, Dwivedi said.

A senior police officer said that Dahiya took out a pistol from his car and fired in air to scare the people.

Since the hotel is located nearby the police station, we rushed to the spot when the call was made and nabbed the duo,” he said.
