Two Nepali women nabbed with cannabis

LUCKNOW - Two Nepali women were arrested Saturday carrying cannabis worth around Rs.20 lakh in Uttar Pradeshs Maharajganj, police said.
The two women, aged around 40 years, were held from the Sunauli town near the Indo-Nepal border in a joint operation carried out by the district police and the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).
Preliminary investigations indicate that the two worked for a Nepal-based racket involved in supplying illegal drugs in various parts of the country,” police inspector R.B. Sharma told reporters at Maharajganj, some 300 km away from Lucknow.
The two women have been into the illegal trade for the past five years and used to supply drugs in Delhi, Bihar, Uttarakhand and Madhya Pradesh,” Sharma said after questioning the arrested women.
According to police, the two women are residents of Rupandehi district in Nepal.
