Four of family burnt to death in Uttar Pradesh

LUCKNOW - A couple and their two young children were burnt to death early Tuesday in a fire that broke out while they were sleeping in their home in Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur district, police said.

The accident took place in Uttam Nagar village of Saharanpur district, about 450 km from here. Kunwar Pal, his wife, one-year-old son and four-year-old daughter were burnt to death in the fire that started around 1 a.m., police inspector Suresh Atauria told reporters in Saharanpur.

“The four were sleeping when the fire broke out. All the four had died by the time we along with fire-fighting officials reached their house,” he added.

The officials are yet to establish what caused the fire.
