NEW DELHI - Delhi Police will beef up security in crime prone areas such as Dwarka, Okhla and Narela, Commissioner B.K. Gupta said Wednesday.
“Police will soon get 75 new Police Control Room (PCR) vans,” Gupta told reporters on the sidelines of the 64th Raising Day parade of Delhi Police.
“We will deploy a majority of them in areas like Dwarka, Okhla and Narela and other areas,” he added.
He said two or three new police stations were likely to come up in Dwarka and Okhla.
Gupta insisted that the crime wave against women and children was low in Delhi compared to other metropolitan cities.
Gupta urged the public to cooperate with the police.
