Woman accuses senior colleague of rape attempt

GURGAON - A 27-year-old woman Sunday filed a police complaint, levelling an accusation of an attempt to rape against a senior executive of the private company she works for.

“We have registered a first information report (FIR) against the person (name withheld) and are searching for him as the complaint came to us almost 10 days after the incident”, Krishna Murari, assitant commissioner police at Sadar police station here, said.

The incident happened after a party organised by the company in Saket Jan 20, the police officer said referring to the complaint. The executive offered to drop the woman back at her home, where he attempted to rape her. The woman managed to escape, the official said.

According to police, the woman’s husband was in the US at the time of the incident and she decided to file the complaint after his return.
