NEW DELHI - Delhi Police Saturday claimed to have arrested two auto thieves and recovered 10 stolen bikes from them.

Police said Babloo (35) and Raju Gaur (41) were arrested Friday from Mehrauli in south Delhi while they were surveying the area before stealing vehicles. The stolen bike they were travelling on was seized.

They stole bikes from Haryana and Uttar Pradesh and sold them to villagers in these states for Rs.5,000-10,000, police said.

“They said that till now they had stolen 15 bikes,” said a police officer. Police have recovered nine stolen vehicles from Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.

Babloo told police that earlier he used to work as tailor in Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh and took to crime to become rich. Raju, a farmer, also started stealing bikes to earn money fast.

Both of them met in a jail in Uttar Pradesh and on coming out of prison decided to join hands in stealing bikes.
