Five people who planned to rob petrol pump held

NEW DELHI - Five men from Haryana who planned to rob a petrol pump in west Delhi have been arrested, Delhi Police said Sunday.

According to police, Naveen, 24, Sanjay, 23, Manoj, 19, Sandeep, 21, and Virender, 20, were arrested from Najafgarh area Saturday.

Two country-made pistols, five live cartridges and three knives were recovered from the accused, said a police official.

Police received information that the gang would be coming to rob a petrol pump on Nangloi Road in Najafgarh. They cordoned off the area and arrested the five accused Saturday.

“The gang planned to rob the petrol pump as they needed money to flee from their home state. They confessed that they were involved in more than 15 criminal cases, including 10 murders, in Haryana,” the official said.
