Man held for stealing 1,680 mobile phones

NEW DELHI - A man involved in the theft of 1,680 Spice mobile phones was arrested here and 537 phones worth Rs.16 lakh were recovered from him, police said Friday.
Kamal Kishore and his associates, Yaqub Ali, Mukesh, Mohd. Saleem and Mohd. Sartaj had stolen 28 cartons containing 1,680 mobile phones on board the Nizamuddin-Bhopal express train on the intervening night of Jan 2 and 3.
\”His associates boarded the train from Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station and met Kishore at the toll gate in Ballabgarh, Haryana after committing the crime,\” said police.
Following a tip-off, Kishore was arrested Thursday near a wine shop in Kalyanpuri in east Delhi. During his interrogation, it was revealed that he was on interim bail in a criminal case for four weeks since Dec 25.
Mukesh was arrested from Ashram in south Delhi by the Railway Police Force Jan 3 and 15 cartons of phones were recovered from him.
