Class 12 girl kills friend, burns body to fake own death

LUCKNOW - In order to unite with her paramour, a class 12 student set her friend on on fire inside her own house and left a suicide note to fake her own death. The girl and her 22-year-old paramour have been arrested, police said Thursday.
The 20-year-old Seeta Sahu, of Gosainganj area here, killed her friend Nidhi Dec 25 by setting her afire.
“As the girl’s (Nidhi) body was recovered from Seeta’s home with a suicide note, earlier everyone thought that Seeta ended her life by setting herself afire,” police inspector Sanjay Pandey told reporters here.
After killing Nidhi, Sahu, a resident of Gosainganj here escaped and started living with her paramour thinking she would now face no hurdle in her love affair as she was dead in the eyes of her family and others.
At a time when police too thought the incident was nothing more than suicide, Nidhi’s father registered a missing complaint about her in a police station.
“It was then we became suspicious and started carrying out investigations with another angle and found that Seeta was alive. Acting on a tip-off, we today (Thursday) raided the house of Ram Khilawan in the Jiamau area and found Seeta alive,” he added.
According to police, Seeta and Nidhi were once very close to each other.
However, when Nidhi started objecting about Seeta’s relations with Ram Khilawan, both the friends parted ways.
