RANCHI - In a hair-raising, gory incident, a woman was gangraped and later killed brutally in Jamshedpur steel city, police said Monday.
“She was gangraped and later murdered brutally by inserting bamboo in her private parts,” a police official told IANS. Police have yet to ascertain the woman’s identity.
Police recovered the woman’s body from an area under the Mango police station of Jamshedpur, late Sunday.
The Jharkhand Women’s Commission has taken up the issue very seriously and has decided to send a team to Jamshedpur to look into the rising crimes against women.
In the last one month, three brutal crimes against woman have taken place in the city, which is the Lok Sabha constituency of Chief Minister Arjun Munda.
A rape victim was allegedly burnt alive last month. She died 25 days after the attack. Another girl, fed up with sexual harassment, hanged herself.
