KOLKATA - A Wet Bengal court Friday sent a man arrested for Tuesday’s killing of a teenager, who was protesting against the harassment of his sister, to police custody for 14 days.

The sentencing of Chandan Roy, 22, came from the Barasat district court in North 24 Parganas district, Police Superintendent Rahul Srivastav said.

Rajib, 16, was severely beaten up by three men Monday night when he protested their misbehaviour against his elder sister Rinku Das. The man succumbed to his injuries Tuesday.

Police said Chandan had confessed his involvement in the crime and named his two associates. Police said they were looking for the other accused.
