FEROZEPUR - The Border Security Force (BSF) Friday morning unearthed heroin worth Rs.20 crore buried near the international border in this Punjab district, officials said. The contraband was smuggled from Pakistan.

According to BSF officials, the troopers of the force found four kg of heroin near the Jagdish border outpost.

“We noticed the movement of two men near the border at around 3 a.m. Friday. When we challenged them, they ran towards the Pakistan side. We launched a search operation in the morning and found four kg of the heroin. It was smuggled from the Pakistan side,” the official spokesperson of BSF said.

“After this recovery, we have increased our patrolling on the border,” he added.
