Mexico City, Jan 14 (IANS/EFE) The bodies of eight men and one woman were found at different places in the western Mexican city of Tepic, an official source said.

The victims were dumped on vacant lots and alongside lightly travelled roads linking Tepic to the town of Xalisco.

Tepic is the capital of the Pacific coastal state of Nayarit, a gateway for shipments of cocaine and heroin from South America and one of the regions caught up in the drug war that has claimed more than 30,000 lives in Mexico over the past four years.
