NOIDA - A group of students Wednesday held a candle-light march in Noida demanding justice for Hemraj and urging the public not to ignore murdered teenager Aarushi’s domestic help who was also killed in May 2008.
The students, under the banner of NGO Noida Nirman, took out a procession through the streets of Jalvayu Vihar, where the two murders took place. The NGO is headed by R.K. Gupta, professor at Noida Degree College.
The demonstrators displayed placard that read “Apna Khoon doosron ka paani, Hemraj ki yahee Kahani” and “Munni aur Shiela, Aarushi aur Jessica ki pukar hai, Baki sab bekar hai”.
R.K. Gupta said that while everybody talked about justice for Aarushi, no one had taken up Hemraj’s cause.
“We are taking up this issue to awaken the public through a candle-light march not to ignore poor people,” Gupta said.
Fourteen-year-old Aarushi was found murdered under mysterious circumstances in her parents’ Jalvayu Vihar apartment in Noida May 16, 2008. The family’s domestic help, Hemraj, was also found killed on the flat’s terrace a day later.
