Fake automobile spare parts seized

NEW DELHI - Fake automobile spare parts worth Rs.1.10 crore were seized and three people arrested, police said Wednesday.

Kamal Saxena, 32, Naginder, 42, and Irfan Khan, 35, were arrested Tuesday on a tip-off that they were manufacturing and packaging fake auto parts in the name of M/s Lucas TVS, a police official said.

While Saxena was arrested from his factory in Mukandpur village in north-west Delhi, Khan and Naginder were caught from Samaipur Badli in outer Delhi.

“Three machines used for packing, packing material, two pressing and heating machines were recovered from the factory,” the official said.

On interrogation, Saxena told police that Naginder and Khan obtained the raw material for packaging of counterfeit products from him and were running their business in Samaipur Badli in outer Delhi.

On this information, the duo were arrested and packing material and machines were recovered from them.

“The value of the auto parts, cartons and machines used for manufacturing the packing material is Rs.1.10 crore,” added the official.
