Owing to the inclement weather and the location of the Margalla hills rescue operations have been affected to an extent. The airline has not reported the actual cause of the accident. The initial report suggests it developed some technical snag just a few minutes before its arrival at Islamabad. The rescue work is in progress and so far 20 bodies have been found. Three survivors have been taken to nearby hospital where they are battling for their life. Those who saw the plane crashing said that it was flying at low altitude before it nosedived into the hills. Some other survivors may also be found.
When the ill fated Air Blue flight crashed into the Margalla hills region the sky was cloudy and heavy rain obscured vision. Owing to the weather the flights in the route were cancelled in the last few days. The flight reportedly lost its link with ground control before it crashed down. The aircraft was made to go around since the Benazir Bhutto International Airport in the capital was congested. AirBlue is Pakistan’s second biggest airline but has very few aircrafts in its fleet.

From the story it appears that when the plane had come down to land at 2000 feet it was told to come around from the other direction of Muree. The airbus is fly by wire aircraft and will not respond to emergency maneuvers . It gained height of 400 feet but was not enough to fly over the hills. |
