ZIRAKPUR - A crude bomb was found outside a shop in a busy market in this Punjab town Friday, police said. It was safely detonated by police later.

According to police, Pankaj Garg, a shopkeeper, reported a suspicious object, tightly wrapped in a cloth, lying outside his shop.

“We reached the spot and carefully lifted that object and found it to be a crude bomb. We took the bomb to a secluded location and detonated it by firing at it, after placing sand bags all around,” said Yogi Raj, station house officer of Zirakpur.
