Mother hacks off daughter’s body parts

THANE - A woman killed her 26-year-old daughter and then hacked off her head and other body parts in a bout of anger in Maharashtra’s Thane district, police said Saturday.

The accused, Rajratna Nadar, 50, is a mental patient and resides in Virar township with her daughter and husband.

“Rajratna used to get angry every now and then. Her daughter, Almamary, used to take care of her while her husband, Selvaraj, was away at work,” Senior Police Inspector Y.R. Bhagwan told IANS.

Selvaraj lodged an FIR late Friday in which he mentioned that his wife not only killed their daughter but also chopped off her head, hands and legs.

“He came to know about the incident when he returned from work Friday night,” Bhagwan said.

“Rajratna has been produced in the court and has been remanded to magisterial custody wherein she is undergoing medical examination,” he added.
