Suspected Maoists kill villager

BANKURA - Suspected Maoists shot dead one person while three rebels surrendered in West Bengals Bankura district Monday, police said.
The body of a villager earlier abducted by suspected Maoists was found in Sutan village under Barikul police station. He had been shot dead, Superintendent of Police Pranav Kumar told IANS over phone.
Another villager was found in a serious condition with bullet injuries, he said.
Two Maoist squad members, including a woman, and another rebel gave themselves up to police.
Malini Hansda, a woman Maoist squad member, and Baburam Murmu, along with another Maoist Dhiren Soren, surrendered and gave up arms at the Bankura police lines.
There were several cases against Malini and Baburam including murder and dacoity, Kumar said.
Meanwhile, a large number of Maoists raided Patasimuli village under Jhargram subdivision of West Midnapore district early Monday and ransacked five houses of Communist Party of India-Marxist leaders, police said.
