Wrestler arrested for sodomising minor trainee

NEW DELHI - Delhi Police arrested a wrestler for allegedly sodomising his 15-year-old trainee at an akhara (wrestling arena) in North Delhi, police said Monday.
According to police, the incident was revealed when the boy’s mother questioned him about his deprerssion for many days.
“The boy kept quiet for almost eight days and Sunday he told his mother what had happened,” Deputy Commissioner of Police Chhaya Sharma told IANS.
The victim, a school student, was learning wrestling at the akhara in Sultanpuri run by Amrit Lal (25) for the past three years.
“Eight day ago, after the practicing session, Amrit Lal asked the boy to stay back, took him to his room and forcibly sodomised him, said the official.
The boy was taken to the Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital for medical examination and Amrit Lal was arrested from his akhara Sunday, added the official.
Amrit Lal, who is from Sonepat in Haryana, has been running the wrestling centre in Sultanpuri for a long time, according to police.
