BSP MLA accused of rape surrenders

LUCKNOW - Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) legislator Purshottam Naresh Dwivedi, who was accused of gang-raping a minor girl in Banda last month, has surrendered before an Uttar Pradesh court, top officials said Thursday.
Dwivedi, who represents the ruling party from Banda, 180 km from here, is also accused of illegal confinement. He surrendered before the court of the judicial magistrate in Banda, officials said.
