PANAJI - Goa police Wednesday said that they were reviewing video footage showing an anti-narcotics police official allegedly peddling drugs to two women foreign nationals
We are reviewing it (video footage). We will make a formal statement later in the day, Superintendent of Police Atmaram Deshpande told reporters at the police headquarters.
The video, which was telecast on a local TV news channel Tuesday night, showed Sub Inspector Sunil Guddler handing over a small packet to the two women in a hotel room at an undisclosed destination. The identity of the two women has also not been revealed.
While it is not clear what was being handed over, the TV news channel Prudent Media claimed that it was drugs - charas or hashish.
Guddler was the officer who had last year arrested Israeli drug dealer David Driham alias Dudu, who is presently in judicial custody.
Seven police officials have already been arrested for their links with the drug mafia in the state.
