One nabbed for minor’s gangrape in Maharashtra

THANE - One of the three men accused of gangraping a minor earlier this week in Maharashtra’s Thane district was arrested Thursday, police said.

According to police, the incident took place in Tokawade village.

“The 16-year-old was raped Dec 5 by three men. She consumed poison the next day and was admitted to hospital. The matter came to light late last (Wednesday) night after she died,” Assistant Police Inspector Bhaskar Jadhav told IANS.

“One of the three accused Dattu Thakare has been arrested. We are looking for the other two accused, Suresh Thakare and Bhagwan Thakare,” he said.
