GORAKHPUR - Three drug peddlers, who worked for a Nepal-based racket, have been arrested here with banned drugs worth over Rs.1 crore, police said Monday.
The three Uttar Pradesh men were nabbed late Sunday from Campereganj locality.
“The three were arrested while they were on their way to hand over the illegal consignment of the drugs to their clients in Delhi,” a police official told reporters in Gorakhpur, some 300 km from Lucknow.
“Preliminary investigations reveal that the three worked for a Nepal-based racket involved in supplying drugs to various states in the country,” the police official said.
The three are being quizzed to gather more information about their gang members operating in Uttar Pradesh and in neighbouring states, he added.
