Missing sand trader’s body found near Patna

PATNA - The bullet-riddled body of a missing sand trader was found on the outskirts of this Bihar capital Sunday, leading to angry protests by hundreds of locals.

The body of Jitendra Singh, who was missing for the last three days, was recovered by the police from Digha locality. Earlier, the police had found his motorcycle stained with blood and his shoes near Shastrinagar area here.

After Singh went missing, local residents blocked the Patna-Danapur road Saturday for seven hours and pelted stones on policemen as a protest.

Singh’s family members lodged a case, in which they accused builder Naveen Singh for his disappearance as they suspected foul play.

Angry locals again protested Sunday morning and soon after the news spread that his body was found, hundreds gathered on roads and shouted slogans. A large number of policemen were deployed to prevent any untoward incident.
