Delhi Police bust robbers gang, two arrested

NEW DELHI - Delhi Police busted a motorbike gang engaged in robberies in the city after the arrest of two of its members. They have also recovered Rs.3 lakh and a pistol from the two, an official said Saturday.
According to the police, Rakesh (35) and Shyam Sunder (36) are residents of Partap Nagar in north Delhi.
They were held Thursday while the police were on the trail of four men who robbed Rs.13 lakh and a motorbike from Sunil Dutt, an Uttam Nagar resident, on Dec 14 last year, a senior police official said.
Dutt was robbed from near Kishan Ganj dispensary in Gulabi Bagh area.
We trapped them near Kishan Ganj and recovered Rs.3 lakh, two bikes, a country-made pistol and live cartridges, said the officer.
Sunder told police that he along with Rakesh, Raju Khanna and Chhotu robbed Dutt after their associate Parvesh Kumar informed that Dutt was carrying the money, the officer added.
The arrested men also told police they had paid informers in Sadar Bazar market and Bara Hindu Rao area who tipped them off about traders carrying large amounts of money, the officer said.
According to the officer, the gang is also involved in three more cases of snatching and robbery. Efforts are on to nab the others and also the informers, he said.
