CBI raids Indian Maritime University

CHENNAI - Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) sleuths Thursday swooped down on the Indian Maritime University (IMU) here and carried out search operations following complaints of misappropriation of funds.

The CBI team also raided the residence of IMU Vice Chancellor P. Vijayan.

A central university, the IMU has eight departments namely port management, nautical science, marine engineering, transport and logistics, marine sciences, maritime law, naval architecture and ship building, inland water transport.

A first of its kind in the country, IMU is a teaching and affiliating university offering degree, post graduate degree and research programmes.
