Aarushi case: Rajesh Talwar issued notice

GHAZIABAD - A special CBI court here Monday issued notice to Rajesh Talwar, father of murdered teenager Aarushi Talwar, after taking cognizance of a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) report seeking closure of the case.
Earlier Monday, Rajesh Talwar filed a protest petition in the CBI court here, requesting that the case not be closed as requested by the investigating agency.
In his five-point application, Talwar stated that it was a “heinous” crime and, “in the interest of justice”, the CBI should not be allowed to close the case.
But the court rejected his petition, saying it was “too early to move a plea against closure report”.
The closure report has named Aarushi’s dentist father Rajesh Talwar as the lone suspect in the case and said the crime scene was heavily “dressed up”, which could only have been done by the parents.
The court also deferred the hearing of the closure report to Friday (Jan 7).
Fourteen-year-old Aarushi was found murdered under mysterious circumstances in her parents’ Jalvayu Vihar apartment in Noida, Delhi’s suburban town in Uttar Pradesh, May 16, 2008. Hemraj’s body was found on the flat’s terrace a day later.
