14-year-old raped by neighbour

NEW DELHI - A 14-year old girl was raped by a neighbour in Mehrauli in south Delhi, police said Thursday.
The incident took place at around 5.40 p.m. Wednesday at Paryavaran apartments in Mehrauli locality. The accused has been identified as Prabhat Kumar, 20.
The accused was a neighbour of the victim. Wednesday, when the victims mother went to the market, the accused took her to his room and allegedly raped her.
The victim who was terrified after the incident told her mother about it when she came back and subsequently the police were called.
The victim was taken to Safdarjung hospital for medical examination where doctors confirmed rape.
A case has been registered and police are trying to nab the absconding accused.
The victims father works in a private company at Gurgaon.
