Nodar Kumaritashvili's "relative lack of experience" on challenging tracks played a significant role in his death during a training run hours before the start of the Vancouver Olympics, according to a coroner's report released Monday.

LONDON - The international luge federation blamed the death of Georgian racer Nodar Kumaritashvili on his driving mistakes, saying a "complex series of interrelated events" led to the fatal crash during a training run at the Vancouver Olympics.

Gravitational force overpowered out-of-control Georgian luger Nodar Kumaritashvili and left him unable to avoid the crash that claimed his life hours before the opening ceremony at the Vancouver Olympics, the International Luge Federation concluded in a report Monday.

WHISTLER, British Columbia - Swiss driver Daniel Schmid has withdrawn from the Olympic two-man and four-man bobsled competitions "for safety reasons" after two practice crashes.
