ALBERT LEA, Minn. - As tornadoes bore down on southern Minnesota, Angie Woodside called her in-laws and said they should rush to her house west of Albert Lea, where there was a basement to take cover.

WADENA, Minn. - Police and National Guard soldiers blocked off neighborhoods Friday as city officials organized a cleanup from tornadoes that ripped through the city the night before, part of a turbulent system that fueled twisters across the state and killed at least three people.

WADENA, Minn. - When the storm came through, Jay Hotakainen huddled in the basement of his northwest Minnesota home with his 12-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter.

WADENA, Minn. - Tornadoes ripped across Minnesota on Thursday evening, killing at least two people and injuring dozens more as homes were flattened, trees toppled and a gas station destroyed.
