BEIJING - A man drove his car into a dragon dance parade in an eastern China province, killing five people and injuring many late Monday night, officials said Tuesday.

The suspect was detained by police at 2 a.m. Tuesday, five hours after he escaped from the hit-and-run scene after he drove into the dragon dance parade at a highway section in Gao’an city in Jiangxi province, Xinhua reported citing officials.
