Apex court canteen worker commits suicide

NEW DELHI - A man employed in the Supreme Court’s canteen and a worker in a private company committed suicide in two separate incidents, police said Wednesday.

Apex court canteen worker Tema, 22, committed suicide by hanging himself inside his house in Krishan Nagar in east Delhi Tuesday night.

“The family members discovered him hanging in his room. There was no suicide note,” said a police officer.

In the other incident, a 40-year-old employee of a private company killed himself in Badarpur in south Delhi Tuesday night.

Police said Virender was depressed over being unmarried.

He believed his family was not doing enough to get him married, said a senior police officer.

In his suicide, he wrote that his family members were not doing enough to get him married, the police officer said.
