NEW DELHI - The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Monday questioned former Telecom Commission member K. Sridhar in connection with the allocation of spectrum allocation scam.

According to informed sources, Sridhar reached the CBI headquarters here and was questioned in depth on his role in the allocation of second generation (2G) spectrum.

The Supreme Court is monitoring the probe into the irregularities in spectrum allocation. It has asked the CBI and the Enforcement Directorate to submit their status reports on their probes by Feb 10.

Former communications minister A. Raja, former telecom secretary Siddharth Behura and Raja’s former personal secretary R.K. Chandolia were arrested Feb 2 for their alleged links to the spectrum scam, dubbed the biggest in the country’s history.

Raja is alleged to have sold spectrum licenses at rates much lower than the market. He was asked to resign Nov 14 last year after the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) indicted him in the scam and for causing huge losses.
