LUCKNOW - Three Chinese nationals were detained by the Seema Suraksha Bal (SSB) for crossing over into the Indian side of the Indo-Nepal border at Rupaidiha in Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh, police said Wednesday.

Those arrested are a woman and two men, who claimed to be engineers engaged in installation of mobile phone towers in Nepal on behalf of well-known Chinese cellphone giant, Huawei, which was entrusted with the task.

The three Chinese nationals were arrested Monday afternoon because they were found inside the Indian territory without passport and visa, a police officer told IANS over phone from Bahraich, about 180 km from here.

The arrested have been identified as Yu Uyang, Che Rang and Li Soto.

They were presented before a local court Tuesday following which they were sent to judicial remand for 14 days.
