Four youths held for murder, robbery

NEW DELHI - Four youths were arrested after they robbed two people and killed one of them earlier this month in west Delhi, police said Thursday.

On Dec 25, one of the accused Bittoo was arrested. During interrogation, Bittoo revealed the name of the other accused: Ashish, Anil, Sonu, Vinod and Praveen. All the six accused are between 19-21 years.

“Vinod and Praveen are absconding, though the others have been arrested. All efforts are being made to nab the two,” said an official.

The murder took place on Dec 18. Rajesh and his friend Ranjeet after purchasing two beers from a mall were going back to their homes. Around 9.15 p.m. when they reached a park near Rithala pond, the accused attacked them and asked them to hand over their valuables, said the official.

When Ranjeet resisted, one of them stabbed him with a knife twice. Two mobile phones and Rs.510 were robbed by the accused.

Ranjeet was rushed to hospital but he succumbed to injuries, added the official.
