MANILA - A family of five, including three children, were killed when a fire razed their house in the eastern Philippines, a provincial police chief said Monday.

The fire erupted late Sunday while the victims were sleeping in their house in Nabua town in Camarines Sur province, 300 km southeast of Manila, police Senior Superintendent Jonathan Ablang said.

The victims were a couple and their three children aged one to five, Ablang said.

He said an initial investigation showed the fire started at the side of the house, which was being used as the family’s upholstery shop.
