Quake jolts Philippines

MANILA - An earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale rocked the southern Philippines early Friday, Xinhua reported.

The quake, which struck at 4.03 a.m., was traced some 95 km northeast of Surigao, Mindanao region, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said on its website.

No casualties were reported.
