RANCHI - Fed up with constant harassment by two boys, a Class 10 girl hanged herself from a ceiling fan in steel city Jamshedpur Thursday, police said.

According to police, Deepika Kumari was fed up with the unsavoury and lewd remarks constantly passed by two students and committed suicide in Bhuiyadih colony of Jamshedpur.

The two boys, Vikas and Shiva Pujan, allegedly passed unsavoury remarks whenever she went out of her house for studies. They often called at her home, asking her to marry either of them.

According to police, Deepika’s father had complained to the families of the two boys. He had also lodged complaints in two police stations about the harassment to the girl, but no action was taken against the boys.
